As a child, I loved watching magic shows on TV. I remember finding a "magic book" in my school library in 5th grade. I took it home and tried these magic tricks (mostly stunts, gags, and optical illusions), and got great reactions from my family. I would say that was the first bite of the showbiz bug. At the age of 14 I visited the local novelty shop in my hometown. While there I saw a man in the back corner of the shop that was demonstrating magic tricks. After watching several demos I purchased one of the tricks and walked out of the store with my first professional magic trick. I took it home to practice, and ran to show my family. They were amazed at what I showed them. I knew I had to expand my audience so I took it to school with me the next day. The reactions from my classmates was just as great as those of my family. Over the next several years, I would add a few tricks to my arsenal. In 1998 I found a magic shop that helped me start building my vast collection of magical tricks and apparatus. I was, at this time, still only doing small tricks for friends and family. In 2001 while at work I showed a trick to a friend/co-worker, just as I had done on several occasions. This day my friend asked if I would perform a show for the youth group at his church. Having never performed a full show, I was reluctant but agreed to do it. The show was a great success, and I decided, at that point, to begin my business and share these shows with anyone I could. Currently I have performed shows for thousands of audiences spanning several types of venues and occasions. I Specialize in magic for children.
I have been performing magic for over 40 years. During that time I have been a member of "the International Brotherhood of Magicians" on an international level and on a local level with "Ring 29" (little Rock, Ar) and "Ring 8" (Columbia, Mo). I am also a long time member of "The Fellowship of Christian Magicians".
At Great Scott Illusions I wish to ensure that all of my performances are safe and enjoyable for all involved. In order to do this I have and maintain:
I moved to Jefferson City, Mo, from Shreveport, La, in October 2019, so I am relatively new to the area, but as you have read, I am not new to entertaining children. I have entertained children successfully for more than 20 years. My goal is to make sure the children (and adults alike) have a good time at the event, and especially during my performance.
